Week 11 Term 2
Wow! Only 5 more hours to go until a two week break before term 3 comes. So much has happened this term, a lot of planning for term three, but plenty ore as well.
Band: Band has done so much this term. From festivals to Musics Days, from American Conductors to playing with the youth band. Band has been practicing every Thursday morning, and are still now.The senior and junior bands have now mixed and are one big Te Awamutu Intermediate band.
Belmont: Belmont was a sports exchange we had with Belmont Intermediate from Auckland last week. There were 9 sports being played, 4 down here 5 up there. Unfortunately they won the shield this year, but we'll win next time.
Production: This happened a couple weeks ago, and involved over 100 students at our school. It was called Battle Of The Bands, and we did four shows over three days. It was a success, and everyone had fun.
Next term is our busiest term at TAI. There are over seas trips to Japan, Sports Camp, AIMS,Ski Trip, Cross Country, Murray Bay and more. It is the last day to do day, and most people are ready for the holidays. You would have to be crazy not to look forward to no school for two weeks. For the rest of the day today I have food technology, maybe Japanese and French, and a student assembly in the afternoon. See you in term three!

Week 5+
Well another week has gone by at Te Awamutu Intermediate. Nothing much has happened ,but a lot is coming up. We have things including: Winter Games, Production, Music Day, Inter House jump jam and more. Here are a few more things that are also coming up in term 3.
AIMS: This is a New Zealand wide event and has intermediate aged kids come from all corners of the country, and some even come from Australia. It is held over in Taurargna for just under a week, and kids come to play sports that they are good at. It is a very competitive event and schools only send there top athletes. The sports came range from; Basket Ball to Tennis, from Net Ball to darts and sailing. This event is coming up in term 3, September.
Production: This year our school is putting on a production. It is called Battle Of The Bands. It is being held this term in our school hall, and the cast has already been picked and practicing. The production is coming up in four weeks and everyone is trying hard to be ready in time.
Sports Camp: This event is held over a week in Totra springs. It is a event where schools compete against each other in different sports. At T.AI. if students want to be in sports camp then they send in their application form. The sports committee pick a team of at least 35 people. Once they have picked a team, the students get told, and they chose the sports that they would like to play.Sports camp is next term.
As you can see there are a lot of things coming up here, and that list I had before did not include all the WIMS teams. It will be a busy rest of term with only 5 1/2 weeks left.

band camp
A couple weeks ago our school hosted the band camp. As well as our school, te Awamutu Intermediate, matamata intermediate and cambridge middleschool came as well. The camp was over two days, and students from te awamutu intermediate did not get to stay the night. It started on Wednesday about 10 30. Matamata and Cambridge arrived at 10 and started to unpack their gear. Later on the students from te awamutu camp up to the alc with their instuments. The seniour band stayed there while the the joniors went down to the hall, the drum line in the music room and the coirer in the dance and drama studio. At 11 30 we had a morning tea break, and at 12 30 we had lunch. during these time we practiced playing songs. In the senoiors, the band I am in, we practiced songs like royals, happy, mambo no. 5, heavy metal and more. we practiced hard and we looked forward to dinner at 5 30, wjich was hamburgers and chips and for desert we had apple crumble and icecream. After that we had short rehearsel and te awamutu went home.
The next day, Thursday, we played the songs even harder because we new that we had a concert to night. We played hard and stopped for lunch at the same time. At 3 O'clock we stopped for afternoon tea and had a big rest until dinner was ready at 5. The concert was starting a 7, so we all got our insturments and went to the music room. By the time the had got us all tune up and seated, it was 7. the conccert was great and went to 8 30.
I would like to say thank you to Mrs German, Mr Sandbridge, Caleb and the music teachers and parents from cmbridge and matamata for making this whole thing posssible.

Week 3
Week 3
A lot has happened since the beginning of the year, just to recap.
House Captains, Class Counselors, Head Students and Deputies.
These were all picked in term one, and they will stay the same until next year.
Wellington Class Camp:
Our class had an awesome time down in wellington and did and saw some amazing things. A few things we did were: Capital E, Zealandia, snorkeling, Parliament and more. It was for a week and we happily gave up our Sunday to travel down there. Thank you to all the parents that came with us, Mrs Crowe for organising it, and Gale for driving down there and putting up with us.
Field:
Our field is out of bounds for it has just been sewing up. They have planted the seeds, but we are still not allowed to play on it until next term.
Shine:
Recently our school has finished painting the shine acronym on the office wall. It looks amazing and is the first thing you see when you enter our school. As for shine bands and badges, our first band was handed out this week to Gemma in room 14. She now has five different bands so she has earned a bronze badge, and she is working towards her silver and gold badges.
So far three weeks down, eight to go for this term. It is going to be full on term and I can’t wait.

Wellington Day Two
Tuesday:
Today started of with a visit to Carter Observatory. I enjoyed having a look at the Observatory. It had information about planets and stars and also astronauts. In a room the was a spaceship that you walked into and you could see how they ate, how they kept themselves entertained, how the connected with earth and more. After that we went and saw a 45 minute video, half of it was a documentary about building a rocket and a rover to go to the moon. The other half was a man telling us about the stars that you can see above wellington on a clear night. The observatory was cool place to go to and I would go again.
